How to apply

Selecting candidates for admission is a very critical decision for the Executive MBA programme (EMBA). We believe that there is more to selecting a candidate than just considering scores, GPAs and other merely numerical performance indicators. For this reason admission decisions for the EMBA take into account three primary areas of evaluation:

  1. Professional Experience
  2. Academic Background
  3. Applicant's Overall Profile

In this page you will find useful information and instructions about the application process for the Executive MBA programme. Please spend some time reading this information before you proceed with your application.

 

Before you apply

Make sure you have all your supporting documents scanned and ready for submission. Check below the documents needed to support your application. Please note that all academic qualifications should be legally certified as genuine copies of the original and accompanied by official translation of these documents in English. Plain photocopies of the documents cannot be accepted.

NOTE: A small number of applicants may be accepted based on substantial management and professional experience, without a first degree.

 

Applying

Application forms can be lodged from October up until July every year for the October intake. However, late applications after July may be considered provided that there are still available places in the programme of your interest. Applications are considered in priority order, according to the date of their submission. As the University of Sheffield strictly limits the number of places in each programme, late applications risk disappointment.

To apply for a course, please choose one of the following:

  • Fill in the application form (either electronically or in your own handwriting)

    In case you fill in the application form in your own handwriting you should scan it and then attach it to your email. Please note that your application should also be sent by post along with the rest of your documents to our Admissions Office.

Important note: Your application will be reviewed only when we receive the original copy by post along with all supporting documents required.

 

After you apply

Applications are first considered by the Academic Committee of the relevant Department at the International Faculty. Applications are evaluated by each department's academic committee where the final decision is made regarding the applicant's acceptance.

Successful applicants are notified of their acceptance to the programme through a formal letter issued directly by the University of Sheffield. You will also receive an offer letter and a letter issued by the international office giving you guidelines on what you will need to do next.

 

Tracking your application

The Academic Committee will try to make a decision as quickly as possible. The process usually takes up to two weeks. Remember, if you send supporting documents separately this can delay the decision.
