Our Study Abroad programme offers some of the most exciting and academically enriching opportunities available to you as an undergraduate. You may choose units from one or more departments in the disciplines of:

  • Business Administration & Economics with specialisations in Marketing, Accounting & Finance, Management
  • Psychology
  • Computer Science with specialisations in Internet Computing and Business Informatics
  • English Studies


Almost all of our units are now open to incoming exchange and study abroad students, which means you have access to one of  a wide range of courses.

Choosing your programme of study at the International Faculty

  1. Before completing an application form, you and your academic advisers should look at the units on offer at the International Faculty.
  2. You need to be sure the level of study at the International Faculty is right for you, and that the units you choose will meet your home degree requirements.
  3. Before applying you should write a list of units that you need to take whilst attending the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College.
  4. The units you put on your application should be the ones you *MUST* take in order to carry on with the progression of your degree.
    These are units the International Faculty can gain pre approval from the academic departments.
  5. Maximum credit loads: 120 UK credits (60 ECTS credits) for the academic year or 60 UK credits (30 ECTS credits) for a semester. Do not exceed the load.

Schedule of Units

Courses at Sheffield are known as units. Units are made up of regularly scheduled class sessions of one or more hours per week during the semester and attendance is compulsory. Depending on the subject area, these may include lectures, seminars, tutorials and labs.

The units you choose should not exceed the maximum credit load.
