Warm congratulations are in order for Ms Anna Sotiriadou, Head of the Computer Science Department, on receiving the 2017/18 Senate Award for Sustained Excellence in Learning and Teaching by the University of Sheffield.

This award comes in recognition of Ms Sotiriadou’s exceptional work and dedication to excellence in learning and teaching, through her years of service at the International Faculty, as well as, her commitment to lead and inspire her co-workers. She is the driving force behind the sustained high quality and novelty of the Computer Science Department's programmes and a role model of a colleague. Her unparalleled gift for bringing people together is matched by her passion for establishing authentic, meaningful and engaging Learning and Teaching experiences for students.

The Senate Awards Scheme particularly rewards staff members of the University of Sheffield who demonstrate an exceptional contribution in the area of learning and teaching and thus support and enhance the student learning experience. Senate Award recipients become a “Senate Fellow” for life.

This is the third Award in the particular category for the International Faculty, after Dr George Eleftherakis and Mr Thanos Hatziapostolou awarding and the fourth overall for our Faculty together with Prof. Kefalas’ Senate Award for Leadership in Learning and Teaching in 2016/17.

The International Faculty, CITY College, takes pride in Ms Sotiriadou’s achievement.
