Mr. Pavlidis participates in the 1st Athletic Meeting for Young Basketball players

Mr. George Pavlidis Lecturer at our Psychology Department participated as guest speaker at the 1st Athletic Meeting for Young Basketball Players that took place at the Municipality of Panorama on 13th May 2018 in Thessaloniki.

Entitled ‘Emphasis on the Holistic Development of Young Basketball Players’ the event aimed at informing yourng basketball players and their parents on the holistic approach that needs to be taken towards the development young players development in basketball and young athletes in general.

Mr. Pavlidis was one of the main speakers of the event and shared his knowledge and expertise, highlighting the importance of a 360-degree approach in young basketball players development. He said “It is imperative that tomorrow’s basketball players have comprehensive training, education, and life skills development so that they have the resources to achieve on the court and in life. Our duty is to inspire, enable, and support the holistic development of our youth”.

Mr. Pavlidis is a graduate of the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, CITY College. Prior to his studies, he was a professional basketball player for 13 years in Germany, Greece and Spain. In the past, he was the president of the Hellenic Professional Basketball Players Association.
