CITY College, University of York Europe Campus in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Digital Transformation and Digital Skills Center (DT&S) – Cisco recently launched a project aiming at educating citizens and help them embrace new technologies and digital skills.

More specifically, under the name ‘ALL-LINE’, the project’s scope is to familiarize with new technologies people of all ages (including vulnerable groups), who have insufficient digital competences, and help them develop and embrace digital skills. The project will commence with the training of people in order to be able to access the digital services offered by the Municipality.

Students from all four academic departments of CITY College Europe Campus have volunteered to participate in this initiative. Student-volunteers will act as knowledge ambassadors and will teach citizens who will participate in the project the possibilities of the digital world, beginning with familiarising the first participants with the digital services of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

The basic aims of the project are the improvement of communication and accessibility, the facilitation of everyday life, the avoidance and the elimination of marginalisation and exclusion of individuals due to lack of technology knowledge and access.

In the context of the project, CITY College Europe Campus is represented by its Computer Science Department that acts as project coordinator.

The initiative will be presented at the Thessaloniki International Fair at the Municipality’s booth.
