The International Faculty among the co-organisers of the 6th Panhellenic and the 17th Balkan Conference in Informatics

The International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, CITY College , the South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) together with the Greek Computer Society (ΕPY), the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki , the University of Macedonia and the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, successfully organised the 6th Balkan Conference in Informatics (BCI 2013) and the 17th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics (PCI 2013). The two conferences took place in parallel on 19th - 21st of September 2013 in Thessaloniki, Greece at the MET Hotel.

Prof. Joseph Sifakis, Director of the “Rigorous System Design” Laboratory at EPF, participated as keynote speaker in both conferences, with an insightful presentation.


Both conferences attracted decision-makers, researchers, practitioners and persons concerned with the latest research, scientific development and practice on ICT in Greece and broader Balkan region, aiming at providing an effective channel of communication between these audiences. During the parallel sessions and workshops that took place invited speakers presented interesting papers and case studies generating discussions among participants.
Both events were well-attended and concluded with interesting closing remarks.

Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis , and Prof. Petros Kefalas , Vice Principals of the International Faculty, participated in the conferences as members of the organizing committees.
