The Sales & Revenue Manager of the Capsis group of Hotels, Mrs Anatoli Kapnidou, had an inspection and a fruitful discussion with students pertaining to sales and revenue management (RM) strategies. During the visit students discovered the different room types, designed and renovated “according to market needs”. Mrs Kapnidou mentioned that hotel Capsis absorbs clients from different markets, who are choosing Thessaloniki as their destination, for different purposes.

The core part of the discussion was attributed to revenue management strategies. Mrs Kapnidou analyzed in depth the rate plans and the related tools that optimize the rate performance. It was highlighted that Revenue Management is about selling “the right room, to the right customer, at the right price, for the right time”. The Dynamic pricing, is stemming from the airline industry back to the 80s, however in the hospitality business in Greece it was introduced relatively later.

Capsis’ Hotel secret of success is the teamwork and the ongoing education of the staff. In the words of Mrs Kapnidou “we are not overpromising, but we deliver on our promises”

Students were delighted and as they said “amazed by the robust strategy of Capsis Hotel in the market”.
