These pages provide information for the electronic resources available to ILC members only. E-resources can be accessed through the entire College network and remotely as well, by College staff & students that hold a valid username and password, provided by the Computing Centre. 

Access rights are stated in Information & Learning Commons Electronic Resources Policy.

To meet the reference and research needs of City College community, the ILC offers access to a variety of electronic resources, including bibliographic and full text databases, digital libraries and online directories to further support students with their studies & learning. These resources cover all Courses taught at CITY College.

How to access databases (on and off-campus)

Seamless on & off campus access is available to all registered students & staff of CITY College to both Information & Learning Commons e-resources, as well as University of Sheffield Library e-resources regardless of their location.

 

CITY User accounts are distributed to all registered students at the beginning of each Academic Year during the Induction Week. Details on “how to access and use e-resources” are sent to users email accounts and guides are placed on MOLE, as well.

 

MUSE accounts & registration details are distributed and emailed to students as soon as they become available by the University of Sheffield “Corporate Information and Computing Services” people.

 

Registered members of the ILC may use their personal account details each time they wish to use
